Student Resources
Three organizations associated with the Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics offer various types of conferences, professional education programs, speaker presentations and other events.
UW Real Estate Club
The Real Estate Club is composed of students at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. They host biweekly meetings with invited speakers. In
addition, the club sponsors trips usually in association with conferences
such as the ULI meetings. For information on these types of activities

WREAA
The Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association sponsors a biennial conference as well as a conference on International
Real Estate Finance. The association also sponsors alumni receptions at
other conferences. Chapters of the association also sponsor events of
interest to the local membership.
E.J. Plesko Distinguished Speaker Series in Real Estate Development
The E.J. Plesko Distinguished Speaker Series in Real Estate Development was created to bring the considerable real-world development expertise of our alumni and board members to all Wisconsin real estate students. The selected speakers will feature developers who embody The Wisconsin Tradition in their spirit, imagination, entrepreneurial skills, and enthusiasm for improving the quality of our built environment. Funds for the series have been graciously donated by E.J. Plesko, a Center advisory board member and president of E.J. Plesko & Associates, a real estate development and management company based in Madison.
Alumnus Stuart I. Ackerberg, CEO and owner, The Ackerberg Group, Minneapolis, inaugurated the series with his compelling personal story about what he learned from James Graaskamp. Read and listen to it here.
