Toshiba CEO to Be Honored by Wisconsin Alumni Association
The president and CEO of Japan's Toshiba Corporation , who is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board of the School of Business , will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) in May. Tadashi Okamura earned his MBA from the UW-Madison School of Business in 1973.
Toshiba Corporation is one of the world's leading manufacturers of electrical and electronic products and systems. Okamura joined the firm in 1969. Since his appointment as president and CEO in 2000, he has promoted the use of six-sigma methodology to revitalize Toshiba's corporate culture and operations.
The award will be presented on Friday, May 7, in the Memorial Union Theater. The ceremony will begin with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by an awards program at 6 p.m. and then an Alumni Dinner in the Great Hall. For ticket information for the dinner, contact WAA's Sue Miller at 608/262-9647.
