In Demand: Marketing Researchers
Marketing research is getting a seat at the head table as never before. Alumni explore the new cachet— and challenges —facing their field.

A drawing of how the MBA addition will appear from the corner of Park Street and University Avenue when it opens in fall 2008.
The School of Business held a special event in October to celebrate the start of construction of the $40.5 million addition to Grainger Hall, due to open in fall 2008.
Among those who attended were Governor Jim Doyle, Chancellor John Wiley and David Walsh, president of the UW System Board of Regents and a School of Business alumnus. The ceremony was held during the annual Homecoming Bash.
The first stages of constructing the addition to Grainger Hall began this spring, with demolition of an adjacent building at 901 University Avenue. The “Old Bank Building” as many alumni will remember it, was notable for two Bucky Badger clocks. Fans of the clocks were relieved when they were refurbished and reinstalled as part of the new UW Welcome Center which opened this fall a few blocks down Park Street.
The four-story addition to Grainger Hall will house the MBA programs of the School of Business and free up substantial resources for undergraduate and PhD programs of the School of Business in the original section of the building.
