ASAP Alumni Gather

The nation’s top money managers converged on the UW-Madison campus in October for the 2006 Applied Security Analysis Program Fall Investment Conference. The biennial conference featured leading experts from the university and the investment industry, and was attended by more than 150 alumni of the prestigious ASAP program.

A highlight of the conference was a debate on the pros and cons of portable alpha strategy, a provocative approach now used by some institutions seeking to maximize active management returns. UW-Madison scientists also presented at the conference, sharing information on their work and its commercial application on topics such as nanotechnology, stem-cell research and Internet security.
