Grainger Addition Construction
Over the summer, the School of Business opted to redesign and rebid its $40.5 million addition to Grainger Hall, after bids came in considerably above the target number for construction. “The purpose of a great building is to facilitate a great program. It would be imprudent to try to redirect support of people and programs to facilities or assume more resources will somehow appear,” Dean Michael Knetter said.
The building is being redesigned, and construction is now expected to begin in spring 2006 with the addition opening in fall 2008, one year later than originally scheduled. “We are going to invest money wisely,” Knetter said, “and create a superb facility that will benefit not only our MBA program, but the entire School of Business for decades to come.”
