People Who Need PEOPLE
Twenty-six students from Milwaukee and Madison-area high schools participated in a special business school program this summer as part of the UW-Madison PEOPLE program (Pre-College Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence). The six-week program offers minority students a broad overview of various business disciplines along with classes to enhance their presentation, communication, writing and math skills. The students, who are high school seniors this fall, have been a part of the university’s PEOPLE program for several years.
In the morning, students attended classes that stress business and communication skills. In the afternoon, they worked as interns at local businesses. For more information on the PEOPLE program at the School of Business, contact Judy Cary, director of the School of Business Learning Center, 608/262-1186, jcary@bus.wisc.edu.
