Accounting Programs, Students Win National Kudos

The Accounting Department has been in the national spotlight recently.

  • For the third time in five years, a team of Wisconsin students won the PricewaterhouseCoopers xTAX case competition.
  • A team of Wisconsin accounting students took third place in the KPMG National Audit Case Competition.
  • The undergraduate and graduate accounting programs of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business were both ranked in the top 10 in the nation by Public Accounting Report. The graduate program moved up nine spots to 9th, and the undergraduate program moved up three spots to 10th from the previous year.
  • A Wisconsin student was chosen for a highly competitive position with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Josie Cizek was tapped for a post-graduate technical assistant internship. It’s the seventh year in a row FASB has tapped a Wisconsin student for the position.
