Help Wisconsin Win the Big Ten GOLD Challenge!

Who has the most loyal young alumni? That's the question asked by the Big Ten GOLD Challenge, a collaborative effort between universities throughout the Big Ten.

Here's how it works. Undergraduate alumni of all majors from 1992–2001, the "Graduates of the Last Decade" for which the competition is named, are asked to go to the website and make a contribution to their alma mater. If you wish for your gift to specifically benefit the School of Business, please be sure to designate it for this purpose. Results are posted, and bragging rights go to the school with the largest percentage of its alumni making gifts.

"We wanted to put the focus on participation rather than total dollars raised because we realize that recent graduates may not be in a position to make major gifts," said Karen Crossley, vice president of development at the University of Wisconsin Foundation. "This way, every gift matters. We hope people will find this a fun competition and that it will motivate recent undergraduate alumni to get involved in giving."

Eight of the schools in the Big Ten are participating in this, the competition's first year, which runs from July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002. Each school's results are posted on the website. As of November 15, Purdue held the top spot.
