BCC Recognized for Excellence

The Business Career Center of the UW–Madison School of Business was one of three placement offices chosen for a study of effective practices in undergraduate business programs produced by AASCB, the international accreditation association for business schools.

Wisconsin was chosen because it was one of the top three schools identified in an annual student satisfaction survey of students in undergraduate business programs at 174 participating universities.

A case study of what makes the Business Career Center so successful was published by AACSB and made available to deans from around the world at a conference in November.

The case study was written by Educational Benchmarking, Inc. (EBI), the firm that conducts the student satisfaction survey. For the case study, EBI talked to recruiters and held focus groups for undergraduate business students to identify the techniques that make Wisconsin's effort so successful.
The case study focused on the BCC's use of resources, communication within the school, its facilities and technology and the efforts of the BCC staff for the program's success. Recruiters in the case study pointed to the dedication and professionalism of the BCC staff.

The report concludes by saying the BCC has "learned over time what it takes to deliver their services with excellence, placing support to students and recruiters as their top priority."
