Attention: First-Year Students Interested in Business

The School of Business Undergraduate Academic Services (UAS) is offering small Group Advising Sessions throughout the fall semester to help first year students interested in business prepare for spring course selection.
Group Advising Sessions are mandatory for any pre-business student who graduated from high school in 2009 and will cover the following topics:


  • UW-Madison Business-type Majors

  • Major/Career Exploration

  • How to read and run your DARS Report

  • Pre-Business Curriculum

  • School of Business Admissions and Application Information

  • Resources

  • Strategies for Success

  • Spring Courses

  • Advisor Expectations

  • And more...

It is suggested that you make your reservation early, as sessions tend to fill up quickly before registration for the spring semester (typically around mid-Nov.).
First year students are required to attend group advising before any individual appointments are scheduled.

Sessions begin September 29, continuing through November 18. They are held on the following days at these varying times to accommodate students' schedules:


  • Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

  • Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

  • Every other Friday (Oct. 2, Oct. 16, Oct. 30, Nov. 13), 2:00-3:00 p.m.
