University Special/Guest Students
If you are not enrolled in a university degree program and would like to
take undergraduate level business courses (classes number 699 or below) at
UW-Madison, you may be able to do so as a University
Special or
Guest Student.
Steps for enrolling in business courses as a Special/Guest Student
- Apply for admission to UW-Madison as a Special or Guest student. Please apply at least 3 weeks before the class is to start.
- Search for the course(s) you wish to take using the university Timetable.
- Complete a Business Course Authorization Form for each course you wish to take. Obtain the appropriate instructor and department signatures (instructions are included on the form.)
- After the Business Course Authorization Form has been processed, you must enroll in the course using web enrollment through MyUW

If you want assistance with business course selection based upon your educational and career goals, call or stop the Undergraduate Academic Services Office in the School of Business (608-262-0471, 3150 Grainger Hall) to schedule an academic advising appointment.
Second Undergraduate Degrees
The School of Business does not admit undergraduate degree-seeking
students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree. Students interested
in business who have previously completed a bachelor’s degree may want to
consider one of our
graduate degree programs.
