More Information

For more information about the MHR department, faculty and special programs, please see the departmental webpage.

For information about careers in MHR, see What Can I Do With A Major In MHR.

Please note that these requirements are slightly different from past requirements and are only for those students admitted to the School of Business in Fall 2005 and after. Those students who were admitted to the Business School prior to Fall 2005 should refer to their DARS report for specific MHR major requirements.

There are four ways students admitted to the School of Business may complete a major in Management and Human Resources (M H R). For detailed course descriptions, please consult the Undergraduate Catalog.

  1. Complete the requirements for the management option only (students still earn a major in MHR)
  2. Complete the requirements for the human resources option only (students still earn a major in MHR)
  3. Complete the requirements for the entrepreneurship option only (students still earn a major in MHR).  NOTE: Starting in the Fall of 2008, there will no longer be an admission process or enrollment cap on the entrepreneurship option.  Students wishing to add this major should do so by completing the Major Declaration form.  Students should see their academic advisors or the MHR department with questions about this policy.
  4. Complete the requirements for two of the three options. NOTE: Completing two options still constitutes ONE major. Students may not receive credit for completing all three options.
In addition, the following rules apply when combining options
  1. Students may complete only two of three options (you are not permitted to complete the option in human resources, the option in management, and the option in entrepreneurship).
  2. For successful completion of TWO options, a student must take a minimum of 18 credits from among the listed courses.
  3. Double counting of MHR 399 across options within the MHR major is prohibited.
