Majors, Certificates, and Specializations offered through the School of Business
Click on the appropriate link below for a list of required courses for each of the majors, certificates and specializations. Requirements provided are based on the the most current information. Individual requirements are based on when a student is admitted to the School of Business and may be different from what is listed here. Students can request a DARS report which will contain their specific requirements through My UW-Madison (Click on Student Record tab). Additionally, if students who would like to review their requirements and progress toward graduation are encouraged to schedule an appointment.
Freshmen and Sophomores may also request a "What If" (Pre-Business) DARS through My UW-Madison.
Please note that these major requirements are part of the overall degree requirements. Requirements may vary slightly depending on your matriculation date. See your advisor for questions.
Students who wish to complete an additional major in Letters & Science (L&S) must follow the instructions outlined on the Additional L&S Major checklist.
Certificates and specializations are offered in addition to majors. Normally certificates and specializations are earned by completing a set of approved courses separately from, or in addition to, an undergraduate degree. See the link below for specifics.
For a brief description of each major, see our Major Summary page.
Course Offerings
Course offerings vary by department. Advisors will help you plan your course sequences with the best information available at the time. However, not all required courses are offered every semester for all departments. Additionally, course offerings are subject to change with little notice. Because of this, it is important to plan course sequences carefully. The individual departments often have the most accurate account of future course offerings.
