Welcome to the web page for the group of classes taught by Tom Eggert at the University of Wisconsin. These classes on sustainability are designed to introduce students to the subject of sustainability and to get students excited about starting (or continuing) their journey toward sustainability.

This journey can, at times, be frustrating. So much needs to be done that the challenge can be overwhelming. This site is meant to be part of your support network. For those of you currently taking my class, I will post your work from the class for all to see. This includes poetry, children’s stories, project updates and final project reports. For those of you that have taken one of my classes, this site is to keep you connected to the energy that you felt when taking the class. The site should serve as springboard to potential jobs and internships, current events, and other sustainability information.

In our journey toward sustainability, the concept of connectedness is critical. I believe that if you feel more connected to your classmates, more connected to the community you are living in, and more connected to the world, you will make more sustainable decisions. This site is one part of developing that connectedness.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is rich with other sustainability efforts as well. You may want to check out the websites for the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment or the Center for Climatic Research or the Land Tenure Center.

I want to thank you for taking the time to look through the information that is available here. If you would like to, please email me directly with feedback. If you have suggestions about how the site can be more useful or relevant to you, please share these with me – Tom Eggert.
