Small State Data in DBASE
Introductory Sample SAS Program that reads the DBASE version of the metro database and performs some simple statistical analyses. (We use this program to teach SAS basics, the "model" is pretty simple and not meant to be state of the art).
Intermediate Sample SAS Program that reads DBASE version of metro and state data, merges them, and demonstrates inter alia regression diagnostics, data reshaping, PROC IML, and macros.
Comments on SAS and Research Computing (See above; while we're on the subject of SAS. In Word.)
Economic Report of the President: Statistical Tables (Lotus). The ERP is published every February. The first half of the book is the Administration's take on current economic developments, and an evaluation of their economic stewardship. (They usually find they're doing a great job). The second half is a set of invaluable time series data, mostly annual, most from around 1959 to date. Variables include GNP and its components, interest rates, prices, income, investment, and many others. Recommended.
