Career Resources for Graduating PhD students

While there is no centralized career guidance or placement assistance for PhD students, your advisors, mentors, and colleagues will frequently serve as your best career development resources.  In addition to the obvious discipline-focused conferences, where both networking and formal interviewing take place, you should use your contacts within the school to explore potential opportunities.

In addition, there are numerous academic publications and resources (such as The Chronicle for Higher Education, the AACSB job listings at http://www.aacsb.edu/, and PhD Jobs.com at http://www.phdjobs.com/search/) that may lead to academic career opportunities.  All paper faculty position openings received by the school are posted on a bulletin board outside of 1149 Grainger Hall.
