UW Fellowships

The university-wide scholarships and fellowships are available to domestic and international students. The Financial Aid Committee at the School of Business nominates candidates, based on materials included in the complete Application for Admission.

All-University Fellowships
Provide a waiver of nonresident portion of tuition, health insurance and a stipend of approximately $14,500 for one year for students with exceptional academic qualifications, professional experience and/or publications. Candidates are nominated in a university-wide competition.

Vilas Fellowships
Provide a waiver of the nonresident portion of tuition and a $600 stipend for students who attended UW-Madison for their undergraduate program in any discipline and paid nonresident tuition.

Advanced Opportunity Fellowships
Provide a waiver of nonresident portion of tuition, health insurance and stipend of $14,500 for one year. To be eligible, nominee's must be either African American; Native American or Alaskan native; Mexican American/Chicano/a, Puerto Rican; Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, or Vietnamese; or educationally disadvantaged. Students are considered educationally disadvantaged by meeting at least two of the following requirements: (1) parents did not attend college; (2) participated in a TRIO program (for example, Upward Bound, Talent Search, McNair); or (3) qualify for federally administered financial aid grants (for example, Pell, SEOG).
