Diversity

The University of Wisconsin-Madison and the School of Business are strongly committed to racial/ ethnic, gender, socioeconomic and geographic diversity and to inclusiveness of every kind among faculty, staff and students. We believe that diverse perspectives and tolerance for an open discussion of ideas produce the greatest benefits in an educational experience. To that end, we encourage applications from those whose backgrounds and experiences contribute to a diverse population and from those who support a lively intellectual exchange in a diverse environment.

The UW-Madison is a proud founding member of the PhD Project, an alliance of corporations and higher education institutions, along with numerous academic and professional associations. The PhD Project subscribes to a holistic approach to improve workplace diversity by diversifying business school faculties.

The PhD Project actively recruits African-American, Hispanic-American, and Native American professionals who have an interest in pursuing a business doctorate. The PhD Project believes that by increasing the diversity of academic faculties, the end result will be an increase in minority workforce numbers. The PhD Project offers excellent information on all facets of graduate student life and an annual Conference where potential students can meet representatives of major university business schools and current doctoral students to discuss a future career in academia.
