The Associate Director for US Sanitary Protection Global Strategic Insights is responsible for providing research support and consumer insights for the development and implementation of the US Sanitary Protection business, both strategy and operating plans. Responsibilities will include
development of annual market research plans in line with annual business plans and global Franchise Strategic Plan. Ensure high quality research support to drive insight and data based decision making into business decisions; develop staff, manage contractors if needed, and guide related organizations (e.g. shopper insights) in this regard. Execute marketing research projects (and mine other sources of insight and trends) to drive tactical execution (advertising et. al.), NPD strategy and specific product development and validation, finding new insights to leverage in all aspects of the business. Disseminate and socialize key research findings across US and global marketing teams, sales strategy/shopper groups, and all other key business partners, sr. management. Partner with other GSI leaders on initiatives to further develop the function within the J&J Group of Consumer Companies
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA is a preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience within market research/consumer insights environment is required. Consumer goods or CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience is required. A solid understanding of all standard qualitative and quantitative research methods is required. Extensive knowledge in one or more areas are preferred: concept, product, advertising, pricing, evaluation and syndicated retail experience (IRI/Nielsen), advanced analytics or modeling, required. Ability to interact with senior management, build trust-based relationships and work under own initiative is required. Ability to manage and develop GSI staff in both a wide range of "technical" (MR tools and techniques) skills as well as functional and business leadership is preferred. This position requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate "consumer and customer learning" into actionable recommendations for business growth, including the integration of multiple data sources into compete, coherent analysis. Excellent communication skills, excellent influence management and interdependent partnering skills are a must. Cross-cultural sensitivity required. Excellent writing and presentation skills required.
