I spent my summer at Valuation Research Corporation (VRC) in Milwaukee, WI.  VRC allowed me to apply the valuation skills I acquired throughout my first year in the Nicholas program as well as learn the very latest trends in the valuation industry.  The professionals at VRC are very diligent in remaining current on the latest valuation techniques as well as the proper application of discount rates - including discounts for minority interest, size, and lack of liquidity and marketability.

My opportunities at VRC this summer were diverse.  I was involved in many business enterprise valuations for the purpose of valuing closely held shares.  I was also involved in a solvency opinion as well as an employee stock option plan valuation.  Finally, I worked with binomial option models to value embedded options within convertible bonds.
