As a Finance Intern in the Marketing Finance group at Oscar Mayer - Kraft Foods, I worked on several interesting projects.

In my first project, I performed a competitive assessment of Hormel and its natural cold cuts business. The project enabled me to gather a deeper understanding of the Consumer Products industry and the consumer.

In my second project, I evaluated the financial impact of moving some or all of the Boca SKUs from mainstream to natural channel compliant. This move entailed increased production costs but had the benefits of attracting more customers and improving the operational efficiency while offering the ability to charge a price premium. The project gave me an opportunity to communicate with the operations and the R&D group to understand the mechanics underlying the move.

In addition, I developed a pricing template for all business categories to understand and forecast the impact of pricing moves. I also proposed a new revenue/volume tracker to forecast daily bookings. During my internship, I was able to see both the pricing template and the new tracker being applied to make business decisions.

Overall, the internship was very satisfying and rewarding. It gave me good insight into the Consumer Products industry as well as familiarized me with the different dimensions of Corporate Finance within Kraft.
