"In my opinion, this is the best corporate finance program in the country. It may not have the name that University of Chicago or Wharton does...yet...but you cannot get this type of experience at any other school."

Nicholas Center Admissions Guidelines

We believe that a diverse cohort offers the richest and most rewarding learning environment. Although there is no predetermined formula for admissions to the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, the admissions team looks for demonstration of the following criteria:

Academic Success: The Wisconsin MBA is a very rigorous program both in the classroom and as part of the various consulting engagements. The admissions team seeks candidates with demonstrated academic excellence, a competitive GMAT score (scores typically range between 540 and 770), and evidenced quantitative strength.

Leadership Potential: Successful candidates have demonstrated that they've made a positive impact in various environments such as the workplace, the community, in athletics, and during their undergraduate studies. Through the interview process we evaluate each candidate's motivation and drive to contribute during graduate business school and beyond.

Interpersonal Skills: Business leaders possess strong communication skills, working well in teams and effectively presenting their ideas and recommendations to various constituencies. International applicants must have a strong command of the English language. Interviews and application essays are a critical component of the admissions process.

Professional Experience and Goals: The Wisconsin MBA requires a minimum of two years professional work experience. Rare exceptions to this requirement are made only if all other application components are stellar. Successful candidates have a clear vision of a career in investment banking, financial consulting, or a corporate finance position within a company.
