Off and running

What an amazing first three weeks. I've met around 250 people, been really impressed with the passion the professors have, and already given a group presentation based on a case study. We have a very impressive and diverse class, with people from all across the U.S., as well as the four corners of the globe.

1st ACFIN Mentorship Event

Last week we had a tremendous turn-out at the 1st year/2nd year ACFIN mentorship event. It was a great way for the 1st year students to get to meet the 2nd year students and vice versa. We started off the activities by playing wiffle ball, but after two innings decided to switch to kick ball. Kick ball was much more fun! It is a lot easier to kick a big ball than it is to hit a 1 ounce, holed plastic ball. It was a great time and we had lots of laughs watching the ball bounce off of people's chests as they tried to catch it, just as a rookie wide-receiver lets the football bounce off of his shoulder pads.

How cool is our school? Read on.....

I guess I'm really excited right now and thought I would share why. I'm blown away by the opportunities that are available to us and the projects that we are involved with. Today was pretty typical, but let's look at what I actually did. I started my day by valuing an actual M&A deal. It felt really cool knowing that I just did the valuation that companies actually do when you hear about multi-billion dollar deals.
