Every once in a while during this semester, Aretha Franklin’s song “I will survive” has popped into my head and given me the extra boost of energy I need. I know every student thinks that he or she has a unique situation in their personal lives which adds an extra element of difficulty to getting their MBA. And like the rest of them, so do I. I do feel fortunate, however, that I speak English as my first language. I can’t imagine how international students do it, but they seem to be doing well. And what about the parents in the program; how do they stay so disciplined and focused? There are so many impressive people who make this difficult program work in their lives, no matter what circumstances are surrounding them. I just hope by the end of it all, I will be considered one of them. Sure, I need a little boost from time to time. It really doesn’t matter if it is a little bit of Aretha, or encouragement from another student; I am sure no matter what, no matter wha
t it may feel like two days before a big exam….I will continue to study and I WILL survive.
