Hollis Skaife Named to Key Accounting Advisory Council
Hollis (Holly) A. Skaife, associate professor in Accounting and Information Systems at the Wisconsin School of Business, has been appointed to the Standards Advisory Council (SAC) of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
The IASB is responsible for promulgating International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which are the set of accounting standards permitted or required by more than 100 countries.
The SAC is the formal advisory body to the IASB and is comprised of 30 individuals representing industry and professional organizations that have an interest in standard setting.
Skaife, the David J. Lesar Professor in Business, was named to the council as the representative of the International Association for Accounting Education & Research. She is the only academic on the SAC.
