Professor Emeritus Herb Heneman Given $50,000 Human Resource
Award by SHRM

Wisconsin School of Business Professor Emeritus Herbert Heneman was presented the R. Losey Human Resource Award by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

The Losey award recognizes human resource researchers or professionals whose contributions significantly advance the field of human resource management. Heneman’s research focuses on staffing, performance management, union membership growth, work motivation and compensation systems.

Heneman was nominated to receive the $50,000 award by his colleagues and selected by a panel of seven experts. The award presented in June at SHRM’s 60th Annual Conference and Exposition in Chicago.

In his nomination, Heneman was cited for engaging in a “truly extraordinary array of research, teaching, and service activities that have influenced the study and practice of human resource management in many important ways.”

Previously, Heneman received a Distinguished Faculty Award from the Wisconsin School of Business and Fellow designation by three professional organizations: the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association and the Academy of Management. He received his A.B. in economics from Wabash College, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Industrial Relations Research Institute.
