The challenges and opportunities of housing markets explored at the 2008 Wisconsin Housing Conference (about the conference, video archives) drew national attention.
The conference examined challenges and opportunities in current housing markets and explored possible impacts of housing reform proposals being debated on Capitol Hill. Jim Bullard, the new president of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, spoke at the conference on the need for the Federal Reserve to take steps to address inflation.
Leading real estate experts — including government officials, housing professionals and academics — spoke at this year’s conference, which was held on June 6.
The conference was co-sponsored by the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate of the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the Wisconsin Realtors Association.
