Academic Programs
The MHR Department offers three different degrees:
Bachelor's in Management and Human Resources
This degree track offers three concentrations. Students with a concentration in Human Resources study how organizations attract, motivate, develop, and retain employees, and how they interact with organizations representing employees. A concentration on Management focuses on the activities of management in organizations. Course material covers leadership, power, decision-making, organizational structure and change, strategy and policy, and the integration of organizational functions. A concentration in Entrepreneurship focuses on organizing activities utilized to bring new ideas to market.

Master Programs in Management and Human Resources
The MBA in management permits the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to function in a variety of administrative positions in both the private and public sectors. This degree program focuses on the general manager as opposed to technical or functional specialists. It equips the manager with essential organizational, interpersonal, cross-functional, problem identification and analysis skills. There are also MHR concentrations in Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship. An MS in management provides an opportunity for more specialized training in either Human Resources Management or Organizational Behavior. Four specializations are available to students:
Strategic Human Resources Management
Strategic Management in the Life and Engineering Sciences
Doctoral Program in Management and Human Resources
The PhD program in Management is intended to develop competence in management studies, research methods, and an external minor. Entering students may have already satisfied some of the degree requirements. Following completion of required coursework, students must pass a Preliminary Examination as well as write and successfully defend a thesis.
