Valuing Differences
We continually look for ways to achieve ethnic, socioeconomic, geographic, and other types of diversity among our students. Our goal is to provide a learning environment that enables our graduates to be effective in the kind of world in which they will live and work.
Wisconsin has long had a leading role in diversity efforts among business schools. We are one of three founders of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the country’s first equal opportunity graduate fellowship program for under-represented minorities. Each year, our program benefits from the contributions of Consortium Fellows who choose the Wisconsin MBA.
Each fall, we offer a Diversity Event that brings prospective students from throughout the country to Madison to explore our program. In Fall 2009 the Wisconsin MBA will offer a Diversity Discussions Weekend. This keynote event will bring together alumni, current students and prospective students to address why diversity in business is vital to its success. This event will be held November 12-13, 2009. “I realize how much I’m going to miss being at Wisconsin—the people, the opportunity to learn, and to create a new family with the people here. I almost wish the Wisconsin MBA was three years, just because I’m not ready to leave.”
Adeola Emdin-Woolery, MBA 2008
“If you are here for two years, be here for two years in mind, body, and spirit. Just live the experience.”
Duane Woolery, MBA 2009
