We recognize there are many fine institutions that also offer a PhD in marketing. So why choose Wisconsin? We believe that our program has several unique advantages.
- First, we intentionally keep our PhD program small (our student body averages around eight at any given time) in order to insure that our students are able to work closely with our faculty. We also find that our small size enhances our ability to successfully place our students at research universities.
- We also provide a collegial environment and view our PhD students as junior colleagues whom we treat with care and respect.
- While many other schools offer a PhD curriculum specialized on a given area such as mathematical modeling or consumer behavior, we take pride in the breadth of our program, as we offer coursework across a wide range of marketing issues and are open to a diverse array of problem areas and means of inquiry.
- We also believe that we provide a stronger grounding in marketing theory and philosophy of science than many of our competitors and feel that this grounding is essential for a student’s development as a marketing scholar.
