Undergraduate Exchange
As the second-oldest university in North America after Harvard, Université Laval is one of Canada’s leading universities with over 38,000 students. It was initiated in 1663 and is the first institution in North America to offer higher education in French, in the tradition of the Grandes Écoles of France, and is the source of all French-speaking higher education in Canada. Laval is also a leader in Internet-based education (e-learning).
Quebec City is located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and is a center of cultural, economic and outdoor activities. Home to the only North American fortified city north of Mexico, it is an unparalleled historical and cultural heritage area. UNESCO has declared the “Historic District of Old Quebec” a world heritage site in 1985.
Language requirement and courses
Courses for the business exchange are taught in English with courses available in French for those students with enough language competence. Receive UW residence credits and grades. A five-week French foreign language intensive summer program is offered from mid-July to mid-August.
This is a new program and we are currently getting courses equated. We will update this site as information becomes available. Course offerings are available on the Université Laval website .
Exams for semester-long courses are held in December and May. Exam dates are listed in the online course catalog.
This list is subject to change. Due to circumstances beyond our control such as enrollment limitations, time conflicts and course cancellations, International Programs cannot guarantee that participants will be admitted to their first choice of courses.
