Milan: Universitį Bocconi
Fall: Late August - Late December
Spring: Mid January - End June
Undergraduate and Graduate Exchange
Bocconi University is situated in Milan, the heart of commerce, finance and arts in northern Italy. Founded in 1902, Bocconi was the first Italian university to confer a degree in economics and business administration. Today, it is one of the most respected universities in Europe for studies in business and economics.
Bocconi's International Office coordinates cultural activities throughout the semester to introduce you to Italian culture. These include visits from the leaders of Italy's fashion industry and culinary sector, outings to prestigious operas, concerts and ballets in Milan's world-famous La Scala Opera House and guest lectures by world politicians.
Language requirements and courses
A number of courses designed for international students are taught in English. Although not required, some Italian before departure is recommended. The month before each semester begins, Bocconi offers intensive Italian language courses at several levels. Participation is strongly recommended. Students with Italian proficiency may choose from any of the regular university courses. Receive UW residence credits and grades.
Courses are listed below. For information about business courses taught in Italian, contact International Programs. Graduate students attend English courses with undergraduates, and will receive the graduate equivalent of the undergraduate course below.
This list is subject to change. Due to circumstances beyond our control such as time conflicts and course cancellations, International Programs cannot guarantee that participants will be admitted to their first choice of courses. Students are expected to remain at Bocconi through the end of the exam period and the posted "earliest departure date".

Applying
There are generally 15 students admitted per year (for either fall or spring). As there are limited spaces, application to this program does not guarantee admission. Minimum requirements are a 3.0 GPA, 54 credits earned by the time you go abroad and 9 credits of business/economics. Preference is given to students who have taken Italian language courses.
Applications are due March 1st of the previous academic year. If space for spring semester opens, the application process will re-open with a deadline of October 1st. Attend an information session, held in February and September. Information session dates, program availability and applications are available on the application website.
