Undergraduate Exchange
Tsinghua University, located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, was established in 1911 on the site of "Qing Hua Yuan" - a former royal garden of the Qing Dynasty. Since China opened up to the world in 1978, Tsinghua University has developed at a breathtaking pace into a leading comprehensive research university. Tsinghua offers degrees in engineering, science, liberal arts, management and law. The school now has nearly 30,000 students, with just over half being undergraduates. Our partner, the School of Economics and Management, is the first in China to be accredited by the AACSB and EQUIS.
Beijing, described by Encyclopedia Britannica as “one of the world’s great cities”, is the capital of China and is the country’s second largest city, with a population of about 17 million. It is generally recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of China. There are many places of interest to visit, including the nearby Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace. Beijing recently hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Housing
It is recommended that students reserve a room in the University’s Zijing Apartments. The apartments are conveniently located near cafeterias, banks, supermarkets, the post office, and Tsinghua’s Foreign Student Affairs Office. Students can chose from single or double rooms with private or shared bathroom facilities.
You may find your own housing off-campus if you’d like, but this is a challenging task. If you decide to do this, you MUST complete a Temporary Residence Registration Form immediately upon arrival in China. This is obtained by going to the local police station with your landlord. (The Zijing Apartment staff does this for you if you live at Zijing.)
