Christopher Grancher

Christopher joins the Grainger Center with almost five years of industry work experience in operations and manufacturing. Most recently, Christopher worked at Shure Inc., in Niles, Illinois, a manufacturer of microphones and audio electronics, where he assisted with the development and deployment of a product lifecycle management system, estimated to save $250,000 through reuse of commodity parts.

Prior to Shure, Inc., Christopher was an operations engineer at Crown Cork & Seal, a consumer goods packaging company based in Alsip, Illinois. Traveling extensively to plants in Ohio, Minnesota, Virginia, and Mississippi, he led projects coordinated with suppliers, corporate management, engineering, plant managers, and union personnel.

After graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in mechanical engineering, he worked at Alltech, a manufacturer and distributor of chromatography products. As a design engineer, his primary project was a product redesign that resulted in a 12 percent cost reduction below target achieved through rationalizing and collaborating with suppliers, reusing components, and utilizing input from assembly line personnel.

Outside of work, Christopher enjoys volunteering with Chicago Cares at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. He takes great pride in maximizing process speeds in all of his endeavors.
