Eric Cohen

Eric joins the Grainger Center after two years working as an industrial engineer for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DMCA) in Long Beach, California. Assigned to the Boeing Long Beach C-17 manufacturing facility, he provided government oversight of contractors’ processes to ensure that contractual obligations were being met with respect to cost, schedule, quality, and performance. In addition, he was part of the DCMA supplier management team, which provided intense surveillance of critical subcontracted part manufacturing through the creation of a network of on-site delegations.
Beginning in the fall of 2005, he worked as a volunteer production assistant for a small independent film company in Chicago. There he managed scheduling and budget for not-for-profit film projects. He was also responsible for numerous government and foundation grant requests as well as for maintaining office computers and network integrity.
Eric graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in industrial engineering. His educational background includes many courses related to process optimization and statistical analysis.
