Brian R. Smith

Brian Smith is a 1967 graduate of Michigan State University with a BS degree in science and engineering. His career of 40 years has been spent entirely in logistics and distribution-related activities. This includes 22 years with the Whirlpool Corporation, where he held positions of director of logistics planning and vice president of marketing and distribution services for Whirlpool Kitchens, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary; 3 years with MEAD Paper as staff director of logistics; 2 years with Amana Refrigeration, Inc., as vice president of logistics; and, for the past 13 years, at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, where he is director of logistics and indirect procurement.

 Mr. Smith is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and speaks to student and faculty groups on topics of current interest in the fields of logistics and supply chain management. He and his family reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
