- Amy L. Schmidt joins the School of Business as the new director of the
Center for Product Management, and a faculty associate, effective July 1.
She comes from S.C. Johnson in Racine, where she was senior research
services manager. She earned her M.S. in marketing with a concentration in
marketing research through the A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Research in
1994. Prior to joining S.C. Johnson in 2001, Schmidt held a series of
analyst and research manager positions with Kraft Foods, Inc., in Glenview,
Ill. She will be working with Marketing Professor Jack Nevin, who is interim
director of the Center for Product Management.
- Monika Wingate is the new director of the
A.C. Nielsen Center for
Marketing Research and a faculty associate, effective July 1. She joins the
School of Business from Lindsay, Stone and Briggs, a Madison-based
advertising and public relations agency, where she was vice president of
brand discovery. Her previous marketing research experience includes
positions at General Mills and Pillsbury. Wingate graduated from the A.C.
Nielsen Center for Marketing Research in 1995. Over the past eight years,
she has been actively involved with the Nielsen Center as a teacher and
External Advisory Board member.
- A column in the Capital Times cited the involvement of Andrew Taylor,
director of Bolz Center for Arts Administration, as one of 100 invitees to a
"creative class" summit held April 30-May 2 in Memphis. (Madison was one of
the cities sited by author Richard Florida in his book, "The Rise of the
Creative Class.")
- Nick Adair, who has been with the Technology Support Center since 1998,
has been named IS-data services senior in the TSC. Adair is working toward
his B.S. in computer sciences from UW-Madison.
- The Divisional Committee has voted to approve the appointment with tenure
of François Ortalo-Magné in the Department of Real Estate and Urban Land
Economics. Ortalo-Magné has been a visiting associate professor in the
department.
- Janis Story in the Graduate Programs Office has a project appointment as
a program assistant 3.
