October 1, 2009First-Ever Executive MBA Reunion Coming Up
The Wisconsin School of Business will hold the first Executive MBA Reunion for all Wisconsin EMBA alumni Oct. 30-31. Friday’s events will include three speakers and a reception at the Fluno Center. Saturday’s activities will include tailgating and Badger football.
MBA Students Partnered with Executive Coaches
Executive MBA students partnered with the professional executive coaches at Lee Hecht Harrison. Students were administered the DiSC Profile to better understand their interpersonal communication style in an effort to make them better communicators and leaders. Students were also able to participate in career-related workshops that helped them update their résumés to the executive level, and take the time to create a strategic career plan.
Evening MBA Career Events
Evening MBA students were able to participate in on-campus or phone mock interviews during the week of Sept. 14 with several employers, including: CUNA Mutual, Fiserv, Johnson Controls and TDS.
Evening MBA students were offered a free workshop, “Everything You Need to Know to Get a Job”, led by Ross Macpherson, president of CareerQuest. The workshop discussed the tools to write a better resume, and advanced strategies for interviewing.
On Sept. 17, this year’s first Evening MBA Networking Night was held at the Kohl Center. Approximately 25 employers attended, each expressing an interest in building relationships with the MBAs. The employers included Intuit, Cuna Mutual, GE, Fiserv and Dell.
