Musical Colleagues Release CD
June 1, 2009The Wisconsin School of Business is filled with individuals who have talents in addition to their day jobs. Two good examples are Barb Peterson and Don Hausch, who share an interest and talent for music.
Peterson is program coordinator with the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. Hausch is a professor of operations and information management. The two often play music together. (Some may recall them playing at the Wisconsin MBA’s Art Showcase a few years back.) Peterson, who goes by Barb Cheron in her musical life, plays the guitar. Hausch is known for playing a mean trumpet.
Peterson and Hausch play in a seven-piece band together, the Cheron-Heaney group. The group performs at area various clubs, restaurants and private events. It just issued a CD, “Interplay,” a compilation of 12 jazz standards, a collaboration between Peterson and jazz guitarist Tom Heaney, in which Hausch also performs.
A release party for the CD will be held Saturday, June 27 at 9 p.m. at the Brink Lounge at 701 E. Washington Ave.. with no cover charge. Peterson and Hausch invite their business school colleagues to attend.
In 2007, Peterson won 2007 Madison Area Music Awards for Best Instrumentalist of the Year, Blues Song of the Year and Jazz Song of the Year.
