Grainger Hall Addition Again Honored

The east wing addition to Grainger Hall won a Merit Award in the In Business Commercial Design Awards competition. The four-story addition, which opened in June 2008, won the merit award in the category of “Best New Development or Renovation—Education.”

The award was announced in the May 2009 issue of In Business magazine. According to the article that appeared in the issue: “UW-Madison’s Grainger Hall addition impressed our judges with its handsome, spacious learning environment.” Particular praise was given to the lighting selections in the east wing addition.

Earlier this year, the addition to Grainger Hall received the DSF Excellence in Architectural Design award from the State of Wisconsin’s Division of State Facilities.
