A prominent leader in the real estate community has joined the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at the Wisconsin School of Business as executive director.

Michael W. Brennan is a. co-founder and the former president and CEO of First Industrial Realty Trust and former president and partner of The Shidler Group. He has more than 25 years experience in real estate investment and analysis. Often sought as an industry expert on industrial real estate, he has appeared on CNBC, CNNfn and Bloomberg Television.

Brennan is a member of the Urban Land Institute Policy and Planning Committee, the President’s Circle Real Estate Roundtable, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and the Young Presidents’ Organization. He also serves on three boards: Strategic Hotel and Resorts, Pacific Office Properties and The Chicago Public Library Foundation.

As executive director, Brennan will work to take the Graaskamp Center to a new level, representing the Center in the real estate community and leading its quest to provide best-in-class lifelong learning opportunities to real estate professionals.
