Burrill Competition Attracted Record Number of Entrants
May 1, 2009The Burrill Business Plan Competition held in Grainger Hall on April 17 attracted a record number of entrants. Eighteen teams competed, with the $10,000 first prize going to MBA student Thomas Carmona for City Dictionary, a website that provides city-specific language and culture information. INSITE (the Initiative for Studies in Transformational Entrepreneurship) spearheads the competition. Steve Burrill, BBA’66, opened the event this year, and Neil Peters-Michaud, MBA ‘99, co-founder and CEO of Cascade Asset Management, spoke on the importance of creating new sources of value.
