Listening Session on Madison Initiative for Undergraduates Set for April 2

March 31, 2009

UW-Madison Chancellor Carolyn “Biddy” Martin has provided details of a new plan to drive important investments to undergraduate education across campus.

Under the proposed Madison Initiative for Undergraduates, tuition for undergraduates attending UW-Madison would increase by $1,000 over the course of four years, in increments of $250 per year. Revenue would go toward areas of critical needs. The Board of Regents will vote on this plan in May, and a series of forums for students, faculty, and staff of UW-Madison will take place over the next several weeks to gather comments and questions.

The Wisconsin School of Business will hold a listening session on Thursday, April 2, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 4151 for all interested students, faculty and staff. Anyone with questions or comments on the Madison Initiative for Undergraduates is strongly encouraged to attend the session or email undergraduate@bus.wisc.edu.
