Wisconsin MBA Team Makes Big Splash at Polar Plunge
February 28, 2009The Wisconsin MBA team raised $9,313 for Special Olympics by participating in the group’s Polar Plunge fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 21. The amount is a new record for money raised by the school for the event. Last year’s total was $5,900.
In all, 43 students, faculty and spouses plunged into the frigid waters of Monona Bay. Among those who took the plunge was the entire first-year class of MBA students in Entrepreneurial Management, including one student who did not know how to swim,
The effort was organized by the Graduate Business Association. “In light of the recent economic times, the total raised this year is all the more remarkable,” said Mark Matosian, director of graduate student services. “The camaraderie generated by having so many students involved speaks to the outstanding bonding of our students. The GBA team did a terrific job in organizing this activity.” Watch video of the Polar Plunge
