Undergraduates Show Skills in Case Competitions

February 27, 2009

In December 2008, the Accenture Leadership Center (ALC) hosted the 2nd Annual ALC Case Competition at the Wisconsin School of Business. During the event, eight teams of UW-Madison students competed in solving a leadership-themed business case. The winning team, comprised of Andrew Meehan, Daniel Jacker, Daniel Kaplan and Eric Borenstein, will represent Wisconsin in the Big Ten Leadership Case Competition happening later this March. The ALC developed this ground-breaking event last year and will be hosting it for a second time. Business students from eight Big Ten universities will participate in the event.

In addition to hosting its own case competitions, the ALC facilitates student participation in other competitions around the country. This fall, the ALC sent students to the Eller Ethics Competition at the University of Arizona and the Fisher Biz Quiz at The Ohio State University. The Biz Quiz team took 2nd place in the national contest that tests students with a fast-paced quiz on news from The Wall Street Journal. One team member, Jacob Markey, also took first place in one of two individual rounds.
