First Recipient of SFB Business Award of Excellence Is Kersi Antia
February 27, 2009In February, the Student Faculty Board awarded its first SFB Business Award of Excellence. Assistant Professor Kersi Antia, Marketing, was the first recipient of the award.
Each month, undergraduate business students will have the opportunity to nominate a faculty or staff member who has made a difference in their educational experience. Student Faculty Board executive members choose the winner based on the quality of the nomination in regard to thoughtfulness, specific details, and overall impact on students, and number of votes each nominee receives. The winner is recognized with a framed certificate and invited to dinner with members of Student Faculty Board.
Antia’s nomination emphasized his ability to make his Marketing Channels class an interactive experience and his encouragement of students to actively participate. One of the students who nominated Antia for the award wrote in his nomination that Antia, “leads a unique class that provides practical analytical and speaking skills. He has a kind demeanor, yet is unrelenting in pushing his students to become better.”
The Student Faculty Board is an undergraduate student organization that links business students and the faculty and administration through meetings featuring faculty members or community business representatives.
