June 1, 2008The Social Studies Divisional Executive Committee voted unanimously to recommend Sung Kim, Department of Operations and Information Management, for promotion to associate professor with tenure.
John Eichenseher, professor and executive director of international programs, will retire in August. He joined the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in 1983 and served as the department chair for six years. Eichenseher also served as director of international programs and served as a consultant with Asian and European universities to develop student exchange agreements.
Assistant Professor Lori Holder-Webb, Accounting and Information Systems, left the business school in May to accept a position with Simmons College in Boston, Mass.
Kenneth Wathne, assistant professor, Marketing Department, has resigned from the Wisconsin School of Business.
Urban Wemmerlöv, Kress Family Wisconsin Distinguished Professor and executive director of the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management, gave a presentation on “Lean Healthcare: A Review of the Application of Lean Thinking and the Toyota Production System to Hospital Operations” at the 19th annual meeting of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) in La Jolla, Calif., in May.
Anna Dulmes has accepted the position of associate artist in Marketing Services. She previously worked part-time in the Business Career Center and in Marketing Services. She has a B.S. in art with a graphic design concentration from UW-Madison.
Katharine Hauser has accepted the position of senior marketing specialist with Executive Education. Previously, she was a senior marketing specialist with Gilson, Inc., a Middleton-based biomedical and pharmaceutical instrument manufacturer. She has a B.S. in marketing from Winona, Minn.
Faculty Associate Franklin West of the Puelicher Center for Banking Education has resigned.
Barbara Wolfe has accepted the position of university services program associate B with Executive Education. Previously, she was office manager with the UW-Madison English as a Second Language program. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Upper Iowa University.
Lois Turner, financial specialist 3, has resigned from the Financial Management Office.
