- The Nicholas Center for Applied Corporate Finance (ACFIN) offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience working on corporate finance consulting projects for companies such as 3M, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Kraft Foods, Medtronic, Procter & Gamble, and Qualcomm. The program combines the benefits of real-world experience with innovative teaching of financial methods and techniques. ACFIN is the first and only applied program that focuses exclusively on practical training in the field of corporate finance. Established in 1999, ACFIN was endowed in
2003 by a generous gift of $6.4 million from Albert O. Nicholas, chair and chief executive officer of the Milwaukee-based mutual fund firm Nicholas Co., Inc. An anonymous donor contributed an additional $2 million to accelerate development of the program.
- Puelicher Center for Banking Education is dedicated to establishing a local, statewide, and national reputation as a leader in banking and financial services education and research. On the Puelicher Center's web page, you will find information on the Center's history and organization, as well as information on economic trends, interest rates, and a financial calculator to help consumers determine the best financing options.
- The Stephen L. Hawk Center for Applied Security Analysis at the University of Wisconsin at Madison was founded in 1970 by Professor Stephen L. Hawk. Since that time, over 400 students have graduated from ASAP, entering the investment community with the unique educational experience of learning the investment business through hands-on management of real portfolios. Beginning with $100,000 in 1970, students now manage over $12 million in equities, REITs and fixed income assets. ASAP is proud to be a pioneer among student-managed investment programs and continues to train investment professionals who prove to be leaders world-wide in money management.
