EMBA Class of 2010 International Study Tour
One of the main highlights during an Executive MBA student’s two year study is the International Study Tour. Every year the second year Executive MBA students make a trip to a country of major influence on international business. The goals of the international study tour are to:
- Provide an educational experience that sheds new light on the relationship the U.S. has with foreign businesses
- Create first-hand experience and knowledge of the respective countries business goals, challenges, and models
- Personally connect with top corporate officials, government staff and others to gain an understanding of local businesses
The 2010 Executive MBA Study Tour will take place in Beijing and Hong Kong, PRC from March 2-13, 2010. As a part of the China Study Tour students are asked to form teams based on various global business interests. The teams are then required to communicate with various companies in the visiting countries to set up site visits, which the entire class will attend once in the visiting countries. It is a learning process in itself for many of the students to establish communication with international contacts and build upon previously established ones. Students will also spend time in class learning the culture, basic language and historical background of visiting countries. Though the students will be spend much time preparing for their site visits and attending their peers’ site visits, there will be time to enjoy Beijing and Hong Kong. Students will have the opportunity to explore the culture of Beijing and Hong Kong, while visiting historical sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the new Olympic Village. The 2010 China Study will be a great undertaking for our Executive students but they will be prepared and ready for China!
