Prospective Students

The design of the Evening MBA Program assumes that enrolled students are working full time in challenging, career-oriented jobs. The demands of working, preparing for and attending classes, and juggling the numerous demands of everyday life means Wisconsin Evening MBAs are fully committed to this undertaking. Students pursue a general management major, culminating in a Master of Business Administration degree. They enter and complete the 32 month program as a cohort group, completing their courses in a lock-step format. They benefit from the shared bond of common experiences and finishing the program in 32 months.

The goal of the Evening MBA program is to create a challenging learning experience that integrates students' in-class activities with their daily practice on the job. Applicants are screened and selected to produce a diverse blend of academic backgrounds, professional disciplines, industries, and personal perspectives. In many of their classes, students will work on team and small group projects, reflecting the need for cross-functional approaches to problem solving found in today's work world.

Classes are led by the same faculty members, recognized for both academic and business achievement, who teach in the School's nationally ranked full time master's programs. All classes meet in Grainger Hall, the home of the School of Business, and one of the nation's finest, most technologically advanced facilities. Classes normally meet on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 – 8:55 p.m. and students will take two courses at a time during the fall and spring semesters. Students attend class through mid July in year one and two, and through mid May in year three. They also attend two weekend classes (Friday and Saturday) during the winter break in year one and three and take part in an exciting international trip during the winter break in year two.
